Parinaya helps families track wedding gifts and expenses. This page explains, in plain language, what data we hold, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it honest and free of legalese.
What we collect
We collect two kinds of information:
- Account details — your name, phone number, and (if you sign in by email) your email address. Your phone number is required so we can keep your account secure and hold the right people accountable for changes to shared wedding data.
- Information you enter — the wedding, guest, gift, contribution, vendor, and other financial details you and your family add while using Parinaya.
Why we use your data
We use your data for two purposes:
- To run the service — showing you your weddings, gifts, and expenses, sending reminders, and keeping your account working.
- To build de-identified, aggregate insights — to understand how Parinaya is used overall and to improve our services and pricing. This work is done only on aggregated, de-identified data, never on data that identifies you or your guests.
De-identified analytics
When we study how the product is used, we strip out names, phone numbers, and anything else that could identify a person, and we work only with combined totals and patterns across many weddings. The company uses this aggregated data only. We do not look at an individual family's gift list or guest details to build these insights.
We never sell your personal data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. The only data that ever leaves the boundary of your account is de-identified and aggregated.
How long we keep it (retention)
Wedding records are meant to be kept. When you "delete" a wedding, we archive it rather than erase it — it is hidden from your active list but preserved, so a record of who gave what is not lost. This protects you and your family if a question comes up years later. We retain account and wedding data for as long as your account exists, unless you ask us to erase your personal information.
Your right to erasure
You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time. When you do, we will remove or de-identify the details that identify you — such as your name, phone number, and email — so that the data we retain can no longer be tied back to you. To make a request, email info@insurera.ai and we will act on it within a reasonable time.
Note that some archived records may be kept in de-identified form (with personal identifiers removed) for the legitimate reasons described above.
Keeping your data secure
Access to wedding data is scoped by role and by side (bride's side / groom's side), and money figures are shown only to the people who should see them. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online service can promise perfect security.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will update this page and ask you to review and accept the new policy the next time you sign in.
This policy is provided for transparency and is a placeholder pending review by legal counsel. It is not legal advice. If you have questions about your data, please reach out to us at info@insurera.ai.
